The young pianist Justus Franz bought the Casa de los Musicos and 50 acres of land in 1971. Today Finca Justus Frantz is surrounded by tropical gardens, vineyards, palm trees and mango, avocado and orange plantations.
Together with well-known winemakers Franz began experimenting with wine 15 years ago, growing several grapes varieties, hybridizing and pressing them to achieve spectacular results.

Why begin making wine in such an unlikely location above Playa del Inglés, where 30 years ago there was just desert?
Justus Frantz discovered descriptions of menus in antique books revealing that great wines from Gran Canaria were served in European royal houses in the 18th and 19th centuries and even at the historical Congress of Vienna.

Tragically grape phylloxera destroyed this tradition but today Justus Frantz is reviving it. Our wines compare favorably with famous French wines from châteaux like Rothschild.
Fruits and Olive Oil
Justus Frantz cultivates grapefruits, oranges, avocados, mangoes, coffee and seven varieties of lemon. Our local produce includes delicious cheeses from our sheep and goats. We bake fresh bread in our wood oven and soon guests will be able to enjoy our very own olive oil.
